Today’s extra Qudoku puzzle set comes from my further reading a little book with big content: “instant karma: 8,879 ways to give yourself and others good fortune right now” by Dr. Barbara Ann Kipfer. I first used one of Dr. Kipfer’s karmic sayings in a puzzle exactly one month ago, on 2/1/2009, and stated then that I might do it monthly. Well, here it is, a month later, and I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Thomas Friedman’s “Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution—And How It Can Renew America.” Friedman is a Pulitzer-Prize winning author and journalist who contributes op-ed pieces to The New York Times. He will make a speech in my home town of Portland, Oregon Monday 3/9. When you’re skimming through “instant karma” and you’re listening to “Hot, Flat and Crowded,” certain karmic sayings tend to stand out!
Note the ‘gimme’ in the puzzles: One letter is numbered both 3 and 13 in the quote grid. If you figure out that letter in one Word Sudoku puzzle, it will help you with the other puzzle also using that letter. And a quick examination of the anagrams should tell you what letter that is!
