Extra Word Sudoku (Qudoku!) Puzzles for Monday, 3/10/2014

…and it’s a story I’ll never forget.”
—Johnny Carson

On the second Monday of each month in 2014, I’ll present you with a few extra Qudoku—Quotable Sudoku—puzzles presenting quotes from interesting people or on interesting topics.

Jay Leno stepped down a few weeks ago, making room for the next in quite a legacy of comedians starring on a variety show that's truly passed the test of ages. Leno hosted NBC’s “Tonight Show” for about 17 years. A long time, but nowhere near the record! That belongs to comedian Johnny Carson.

When he first signed to appear on the “Tonight Show” in late 1962, Carson was quizzed by reporters so relentlessly that after a while he refused to submit to further interrogation. Instead, using his comedic skills, he issued a list of replies and told reporters they could choose any answer for their questions.

Not usually good media strategy! But it must have worked: Carson hosted the Tonight Show for 30 years.

Here are a few of his pre-answers to any question you choose:
