Happy 4th of July!

Surfin’ the ‘Net and reading of the many inanities happening in America these days, I couldn’t help but remember a quote I once read from a former President. May it remind us of both where we came from and how we got here.

Remember, remember always…

President Franklin D. Roosevelt turned the words following that short hail into an entire speech to the Daughters of the American Revolution in April, 1938. The speech was decent; the quote, priceless.

This day Americans celebrate our independence and our freedom—and our willingness to share them with and learn from people who are not exactly like us. Every immigrant group and native tribe has suffered from the scared and/or selfish. We must constantly strive to rise above our fears and embrace diversity. It is one of America’s foundational strengths.

Solve the puzzles to spell out Roosevelt’s quote.
