Extra Word Sudoku (Qudoku!) Puzzles for Saturday, 3/14/2015

It should be simple, this little Greek ‘p’: …

Happy pi day. Not just for the year, but for the century! Today is 3/14/15. And of course pi to four places is 3.1415. I’m posting this at 9:26 in the morning. And of course pi to seven places is 3.1415926.

We could go on. Like pi. In fact, I’ll give you pi to 1,000 places below.

As I believe I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I once wrote a poem about pi. Actually, an ode to pi. Yes: I was a nerd before the term was coined.

The ode runs four stanzas. I’ll spread the lines of the first one throughout this post, as I provide you the rest in the form of Qudoku puzzles you must solve to read the poem. Of course, you should read it aloud.

The ratio of diameter and periphery. …

New Word Sudoku (Swifty Sudoku!) Puzzles for Saturday, 3/14/2015

Oh my goodness!" said Tom graciously.
A Tom Swifty is an adverbial pun that simultaneously describes a speaker and refers to the speaker's statement. The name comes from the Tom Swift book series for young readers. The authors were roundly criticized for overusing adverbs and descriptive phrases, so that Tom rarely said anything without a qualifying adverb. A Tom Swifty pun is a parody of this style that will make you groan out loud.
