Extra Word Sudoku Puzzle for Tuesday, 3/2/2010

You know that I love spending time in good bookstores. I was in Border’s recently, and came across a fabulously pithy book, “It all changed in an instant: more six-word memoirs”, Rachel Fershleiser and Larry Smith, Editors, SMITH Magazine (www.SMITHMag.net). Pithy? The editors asked visitors to the storytelling Web site SMITH Magazine to submit stories of their lives…in exactly six words! The book I came across today is the fourth of their collected responses. Genius. You should read all of them: I’ve chosen two examples from the latest book “It all changed in an instant” just to convey the flavor. The three Word Sudoku puzzles feed both quote grids.

CONFAB

Each row, column and 2x3 rectangle contains the letters in the word or phrase exactly once

PHLEGM
6x6 Word Sudoku Puzzle

SQUIRT
6x6 Word Sudoku Puzzle

Copy circled letters to the corresponding numbered cells in both quote grids to spell out the two six-word quotes

Solutions tomorrow morning. If I’ve succeeded in teasing you with these six-word quotes, you can go to SMITH Magazine’s Web site and subscribe to its daily podcast of six-word memoirs: http://feeds.feedburner.com/SixwordMemoirPodcast.

Thanks,
--Dave
