New (Presidential!) Word Sudoku Puzzles for Wednesday, 11/5/2008

We have a winner! In honor of America's new President-elect and his running mate, I present you two variations on a Hidden Word Sudoku puzzle. In the first, based on the letters in the anagram DIME BANJO, the hidden phrase runs across the bottom; the winners' first initials and last names are also highlighted.

DIME BANJO

9x9 Hidden Word Sudoku Puzzle (variant)
Each row, column and 3x3 square contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
The hidden phrase is spelled across the bottom row; the hidden names are also highlighted

The second Hidden Word Sudoku puzzle variant is based on the letters in the anagram ACES BY NOW. The hidden phrase runs most of the way down the diagonal, and repeats a letter.

ACES BY NOW
9x9 Hidden Word Sudoku Puzzle (variant)
Each row, column and 3x3 square contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
The hidden phrase is spelled down most of the diagonal; one letter repeats

Solutions first thing in the morning!

Thanks,
--Dave
