This is more than a game; this is history.50 years ago today, a basketball team from Mississippi State and one from Illinois made history. The team from Mississippi, all white, literally snuck out of the Magnolia state before an injunction could be served prohibiting them from playing an NCAA tournament game…against a team of young black men from Loyola.
The two teams made history. They changed our future. They played what’s become known today as the Game of Change.
