Today we mark the Tuesday after the first Monday in November: America’s traditional Election Day. Note that “the first Tuesday” isn’t the same thing. Just look at a 2011 calendar: Nov. 1, 2011 is a Tuesday, but Election Day is Nov. 8, 2011.
