New Word Sudoku Puzzles for Independence Day, Friday, 7/4/2008

It's the Fourth of July! Independence Day! In honor of this important American holiday, I present you three puzzles, one a 9x9 Hidden Word Sudoku puzzle, the other two Word Sudoku puzzles where the letters are used to complete quotes. I think you'll find they are rather obvious...

Hidden Word Puzzle: NOR EDICTS
Each row, column and 3x3 square contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
The hidden word or phrase is spelled down the diagonal

The next puzzle uses 2x4 internal rectangles instead of 3x3 squares. It's based on the letters in the anagram CANDY PIE:

8x8 Word Sudoku Puzzle: CANDY PIE
Each row, column and 2x4 rectangle contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
Letters in the hidden word or phrase are circled and correspond to numbers in the answer rows

The third puzzle is the same type as the second, except it's 9x9, with 3x3 internal squares, and it's based on the anagram HOLY J TURF:

9x9 Word Sudoku Puzzle: HOLY J TURF
Each row, column and 3x3 square contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
Letters in the hidden word or phrase are circled and correspond to numbers in the answer rows

Solutions tomorrow morning.

Happy Fourth of July!
