New Word Sudoku Puzzles for Friday, 7/25/2008
The first of two puzzles for you today is the standard daily 9x9 Classic Word Sudoku puzzle, based on the word VEHICULAR:
Puzzle: VEHICULAR
Each row, column and 3x3 square contain the letters in the word or phrase exactly once
The second puzzle is a lot harder, I think. It's a 10x10 Hidden Word Sudoku puzzle, with 2x5 internal rectangles, using the letters in the anagram OUTER PANIC. Remember that, since the puzzle is a Hidden Word down the diagonal, the diagonal must also contain each symbol exactly once.
And since it's a 2-column Sudoku puzzle, remember a property very useful to you: Because two columns also break in half and reform as two stacked rectangles, whatever set of symbols that fill the upper half of one column must exactly match the set of symbols in the lower half of the opposite column.
Consider columns 3 and 4, counting from the left. The upper half of column 4 shows the symbols N, A and O. Compare that to the lower half of column 3: A, O, R and C. So the missing letter in the lower half of column 3 is N, and the two missing letters in the upper half of column 4 are C and R...see?

Thanks,
