Extra Word Sudoku (Qudoku!) Puzzles for 1/18/2009

Parade Magazine scored a coup today, in my opinion. Days before he’s sworn in as America’s 44th President, Barack Obama wrote a letter to his two children, at Parade Magazine’s behest, explaining what he wants for his children and why. (Please visit www.parade.com/ or purchase your local Sunday paper that includes the hard copy magazine to read the entire letter. I read it in my hometown paper, The Oregonian.)

I’m a dad with two kids, and I’m certainly not ever running for President. But I could have written most of Mr. Obama’s letter to his kids, in thinking about my own. That’s his secret, of course: he connects. I believe his spirit of inclusion (“Yes, we can!”) helped win him the toughest job in the world at one of the toughest times in our history.

But his letter isn’t about how tough it will be; instead, it’s about why it’s so important to do it anyway: for his kids. And mine.

So today I present you short excerpts from President-elect Barack Obama’s letter to his two girls, in Qudoku puzzle form. Not only do you get to have fun solving a bunch of Word Sudoku puzzles, you also get to be inspired!

Thanks, Mr. Obama, for expressing my hopes for my children, too. And good job, Parade Magazine, for proving that good journalism is still about making a difference!

Thanks,
--Dave
