New Word Sudoku (Qudoku!) Puzzle for Friday, 1/23/2009

Well, it looks like that pundit jury I referenced a few days ago has voted on whether Obama gave a good inaugural address. Consider this headline: “Experts opine: Of the top 4 speeches, Obama's is No. 5.” The full story is on the McClatchy Newspaper Web site, http://www.mcclatchydc.com/226/story/60313.html. And while I’m pointing out links, check out the simply incredible photo of the National Mall in D.C. on last Tuesday (Inauguration Day) posted in the McClatchy photo gallery: Click on http://www.mcclatchydc.com/196/gallery/60173-a60233-t3.html and then click on #27. Photographer David Stephenson of the Lexington Herald-Leader took it. Fabulous! And somewhere in that crowd, I’m very proud to say, stood my 16-year old son, creating a memory that will stick with him for his lifetime…and freezing!

Continuing our mini-theme this week of current and best inauguration addresses, we turn to President Ronald Reagan, “The Great Communicator,” back in 1981.

Reagan, 1981: Heather Whipps, LiveScience’s History Columnist, wrote last week (http://www.livescience.com/history/090115-best-inaugurals.html) that Reagan asked Americans “for some old-fashioned blood, sweat and tears” to deal with the economic troubles facing us back then. Shades of the past!
